What is Giving Tuesday?

“Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and widely recognized shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.” – From www.givingtuesday.org

At Canine Partners for Life, we estimate the cost to raise, train, place, and provide support for the lifetime of each of our partnerships is in excess of $30,000. But, we ask our service and companion graduates for only a fraction of that cost when assigned their canine partner and no one is denied a dog if they cannot make a contribution. The remainder of the cost is donated by corporate and foundation partners and individual donors. The Giving Tuesday phenomenon is a crucial part of our annual fundraising efforts, raising thousands of dollars for our life-changing programs in only 24 hours.

Our last Giving Tuesday was a tail-wagging success with more than $23,510 raised from 131 donors! This year, we are prepared to repeat and exceed that success with a goal to raise $30,000, (the cost of one service dog partnership!) in just one day. We are calling on members of the CPL community, dog-lovers the world over, and those who value and believe in the miracle of independence for all to support Canine Partners for Life this Giving Tuesday, November 28, 2017.
