Today is National Puppy Day, a holiday we always celebrate at CPL! It is a good excuse to spoil our puppies a little more than usual but it is also another opportunity to share our appreciation for our volunteer puppy raisers. All of our puppies are raised by volunteers for their first year of life. Nicky, who is currently raising Remy, shared with us why she chose to volunteer with our puppy program.

“To know that the moments I spend patiently training and working alongside my CPL puppy, Remy, are going to help turn him into the perfect companion for someone fills my heart. Raising a puppy is a bit different than attending a park clean-up day or donating some unused garments – it’s a true test of your dedication to the life and independence of someone you do not know yet. My involvement with Canine Partners for Life has taught me utter selflessness, even on days that I do not think I have it in me. Watching Remy grow and develop into the amazing creature he is today has been one of the most special experiences I have ever had.”

Please join us in thanking ALL of our volunteer puppy raisers! Without the support of our dedicated volunteers, like Nicky, we would not be able to fulfill our mission. Thank you!
