A success! We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support from the CPL community and we can confirm that we have met and well EXCEEDED our goal of $60,000 for #GivingTuesday! More than 250 members of the CPL community and the Board of Directors have contributed a total of $60,716! THANK YOU for another successful #GivingTuesday! Our goal was to raise the cost of two service dog partnerships ($60,000), and thanks to your generosity, we are able to provide the gift of greater independence to two more individuals.

The CPL community joined together to raise a total of $48,456! Wow!

The Board of Directors pledged to donate an additional $400 for each $2,000 raised, which resulted in a total donation of $9,560.

PLUS, two anonymous donors pledged an additional $1,500 and $1,200 when we reached $30,000 and $45,000 respectively. Thanks to all of you, we earned the full $2,700!

What is #GivingTuesday?
“Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and widely recognized shopping events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.” – From www.givingtuesday.org

At Canine Partners for Life, we estimate the cost to raise, train, place, and provide support for the lifetime of each of our partnerships is in excess of $30,000. But, we ask our service and companion graduates for only a fraction of that cost when assigned their canine partner and no one is denied a dog if they cannot make a contribution. The remainder of the cost is donated by corporate and foundation partners and individual donors. The Giving Tuesday phenomenon is a crucial part of our annual fundraising efforts, raising thousands of dollars for our life-changing programs in only 24 hours.
