We are currently accepting volunteer applications from individuals interested in raising a puppy for CPL! It’s a big responsibility but an incredibly rewarding one. Volunteers are responsible for raising the puppy in accordance with all CPL policies and procedures, including housebreaking, crate training, vet visits, reinforcing good manners, teaching basic obedience commands, introducing service skills and socializing the puppy in public locations. Puppy homes are also required to attend at least two puppy training classes per month.

The COVID pandemic has significantly impacted our ability to utilize prisons for puppy raising during this current time, therefore, the majority of our puppies are back in community homes. In order to bring more puppies into the program, we need more volunteer puppy homes! If you are interested in raising a puppy you can download the application here. If you have questions or would like to learn more about this specific role, please contact Diane Henney, Volunteer Coordinator, at dhenney@k94life.org. We will be offering virtual orientations and socially distanced training classes.

Please note, at this time, we are only accepting applications for puppy raising. If you are interested in a different volunteer role, please continue checking our website and social media for updates.
