We want to thank the CPL community for your continued support and dedication to our mission during these uncertain times. We have continued to closely monitor the current COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, as you are probably aware, cases are increasing rapidly and with the holidays just around the corner, the numbers are expected to continue to rise. As always, the safety of our staff, volunteers, graduates and the entire CPL community continues to be our top priority so we’ve had to make some difficult decisions.
Beginning on Tuesday, November 24th, we will be temporarily suspending volunteer activity on campus with the exception of whelping volunteers. This includes all walking volunteers, kennel volunteers, socialization handlers, weekend dog sitters, office volunteers and transport volunteers. All puppy classes will be held virtually – in-person classes will be cancelled. At this time, whelping volunteers will continue their role on campus with some additional precautions.
In addition to suspending volunteer activity, no guests will be permitted on campus and all in-person visits will be cancelled as of Tuesday, November 24th. CPL staff will continue to work split shifts, dividing their time between the office and working remotely.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee what will happen in the next few days, weeks or even months but CPL is monitoring this situation daily and following guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control, the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the Chester County Health Department. We will communicate updates as they are available.
Please be assured, CPL’s operations are ongoing and the important work of supporting our current graduates and the training of the puppies and dogs is continuing. We thank you all for your continued understanding, flexibility and support. We hope you and your families stay safe and healthy and have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!
Sincerely,
Janie Cramer
Executive Director
