The CPL trainers’ notes about Krystal are like a mantra, mentioning over and over again, how she is great at using praise to motivate and encourage her dog, Teddie. The entire class learned by watching Krystal as she and Teddie developed their special partnership. Whenever you glanced at them they looked like they were having fun. They ended the obstacle course with Teddie giving Krystal a high five and it seemed as though every task ended that way – the two of them conquering the next task and celebrating at the end. As we tell our teams – your thoughts and emotions go straight down the leash to your dog – in this case Krystal’s positive outlook, undying optimism and excitement kept her dog working and trying like a champ.
